Lake Lawn gears up for 2015 golf season with upgrades and new course name

Lake Lawn Resort has officially named their championship 18-hole golf course Majestic Oaks at Lake Lawn Resort, a salute to the course's towering oak trees scattered throughout - some estimated to be more than 250 years old. The new name will be accompanied by a series of changes and updates being made to the course in preparation for the 2015 golf season.

"Our course has long been known for its tree-lined fairways, subtle undulations and fast, true greens," said Dan Plens, head golf professional at Lake Lawn Resort. "Being one of the resort's most cherished attractions, we felt the course needed an official name to give it an identity of its own. Under the Majestic Oaks name, we're hoping to build upon our solid reputation among area golfers while continuing to offer a premier golf experience for resort guests."

In addition to the course's new name, guests will see rebranded signs, flags, tees, markers and merchandise. The driving range will be transformed into a Golf Practice Facility prior to the start of the spring season, with upgraded range conditions and the addition of a short game area. Other recent course improvements include a complete renovation of the pro shop and addition of the three-season Champion Room in 2012. Featuring a full bar and menu, the Champion Room is often used for groups gathering after a day on the greens.

Avid golfers can take advantage of season-long memberships being offered for singles and couples, or opt for the Majestic Experience, a play pass for either 20 9-hole rounds or 2018-hole rounds at a discounted price. There will also be junior programs available throughout the summer, providing weekly expert-led practice sessions for young golf enthusiasts.

Majestic Oaks will also host a mix of events throughout the 2015 season to help golfers reconnect with their game. The annual Spring Thaw Kick-Off will start the season on April 19 with special early bird discounts on season packages. There will also be a Majestic Oaks Par 3 Shootout on April 26, Titleist Fittings on May 9, 10, 23, 24 and June 6 and 7, and the annual Big Chill closing out the season on Oct. 18.
