Interview With Interview With Tom Sutton, Host of Midwest Classic Golf TV

A Light Hearted Golf Q & A Interview

By Brian Weis

Below is an interview with Tom Sutton, Owner and host of Midwest Classic Golf TV and ESPN Radio show.
Tom spent the last 34 years in TV and Radio, the last 23 at WISN In Milwaukee and then left to form his own company. He has had a great ten year run covering a game that gives him passion for life

The following are a few traditional and non traditional golf centric questions that I love to ask influential people in the golf industry.

When did you start golfing and who introduced you do the game?
It was back in late high school...I was football, basketball and track until my senior year. Never got heavily into golf until I was in my middle to later 20"s

What is your current home course?
Geneva National in Lake Geneva Wi.

To date, what is your proudest golf accomplishment?
3 double eagles, and the chance to play golf with Arnold Palmer, Lee Trevino, Gary Player, Johnny Miller and Sam Snead. Snead had some great stories, then again so did Gary Player.

What is your biggest golf pet peeve on or off the course?
Slow Play!

What is your favorite golf destination?
Scotland, Old Course Hotel, The Old Course and Carnousti. Afterwards, the bar overlooking the course!

What course is on your bucket list that you have not played yet?
Augusta National. I missed my chance about 20 years ago, as I was scheduled to cover the Masters, couldn't go...and they pulled my replacement's name out of the hat from the media group to play on Monday with the Sunday pin placements. Never will forgive myself for that one.

If you woke up tomorrow and could play one course you played before, where would you play?
HHHMMMMM.....

If you could change one aspect, rule or thing about golf, what would it be and why?
Someone else's divot in the fairway is "ground under repair" ! You should be able to lift clean and place and go on with your round. Chi Chi was right..most rules in golf are stupid!

Dream foursome (living)?
Tiger Woods, Charlie Sheen and Kid Rock! These guys can score!

Dream foursome (living or dead)?
Natalia Gulbis, Faye Dunaway, and Kim Bassinger in their prime. Lindsey Lohan is driving the bev cart and Jackie Gleason is my caddy....."and away we go"

Cart Babes Rule!!!

6) Bathroom OR bushes?
Whatever
