Give Our Readers An Overview of the Golf Course/Property
Koshkonong Mounds Country Club sets upon the eastern shores of historic Lake Koshkonong just south of Fort Atkinson, WI. Koshkonong Mounds Country Club originally known as The Lake Shore Hotel built as a resort in 1870 to host affluent sportsman wishing to hunt the legendary waters of Lake Koshkonong. In 1922 the initial golf course construction began utilizing many of the native effigy mounds as navigational hazards. The golf course opened for play in the summer of 1924.

Today, Koshkonong Mounds Country Club is an award winning full 18 hole golf facility with an additional 9 holes being added in 1981. As our facility continues to grow and change we always look to our past for inspiration and towards the future for aspiration!

What Tips or Local Knowledge Would You Provide To Help Them Score Better At Your Course?
The best advice I could give any player new to KMCC it would be; "take what the golf course gives you and stay patient". Meaning don't try to over power the golf course and simply play to landing areas and to the center of greens and good things will happen!

What Is The Signature, Most Talked About, or Most Photographed Hole?
Our signature has to be our panoramic sunsets views over Lake Koshkonong.

What Is Your Favorite Hole? Any Tips to Play It? My personal favorite holes are #1 and #16. #1 Nicknamed "Hinikaragi" meaning "Warm Welcome" in native Winnebago says it all. I love this hole because it is such a great representative of the entire layout at KMCC. It is a short par 4 (340) that is as picturesque as you could ever ask for in a starting hole. A tee shot that begins with a beautiful lake view and a fairway that is lined with mature trees followed by an approach shot to a small postage stamp green with a inviting bunker protecting any left side pin placement.

On the back name #16 stands out as my favorite hole. It is a demanding long par 4 (414) nicknamed "Outlaw", simply because it can break the bank. A tee shot that begins with a perfect set up for a high draw. Mature trees protect the left side and two well placed bunkers act as your sight line to work the ball back to the center of the fairway. The challenge
