Green & Golden 50th Anniversary

Oneida Golf & Country Club and the Green Bay Packers have a long history together! 50 years ago this July, Packers Coach Vince Lombardi (an Oneida member at the time!) paired up with Jack Nicklaus and played a legendary exhibition golf match against Packer great Don Hutson and Oneida's Club Pro Bill Furnari. Jack and Coach won, by the way.

Oneida Golf & Country Club will celebrate the 50th Anniversary of this match by holding a "Green & Golden 50th Anniversary" event on Tuesday, July 21st. Current and former Green Bay Packers players will be joined by other sports celebrities in a Celebrity Golf Step Aside Scramble that will benefit the original charity from 1965, The American Heart Association (then the Wisconsin Heart Association).

The day's events will focus on the heritage of the Green Bay Packers at Oneida Golf & Country Club and feature some great memorabilia and personalities. In addition to the Packers, we have a very interesting group of attendees for this special event. John Pinero, nationally known for his one man Vince Lombardi show, will be available for great photo opportunities in addition to a book signing by Planet Golf author Darius Oliver who will be visiting Green Bay that day! We'll also have Coach Lombardi's caddy from the exhibition 50 years ago, Dick Lenarduzzi, to share his stories from the historic match.

You can play in this prestigious and once in a lifetime event! Amateur golfers, like you, will join our celebrities for an 18-hole scramble, lunch and reception following play. There will be great photo ops, food, fun and it will all be for a great cause!

Please contact Oneida's Director of Marketing and Membership Jeff Royle at or (920) 498-6516 for more information or to sign up you or your group of golfers for the day. This will be the golf event of the summer in Green Bay. Don't miss it...
