Club Extends Play to Private Members in Wisconsin

Blackstone Country Club in Peoria, Ariz. is introducing a new program that extends playing privileges on its Jim Engh-designed championship course to members of private clubs throughout Wisconsin.

Individuals belonging to private golf clubs or groups of private club members can schedule tee times on the course only through their club professional. Guests of members are also welcome.

Tee times are taken on a space available basis. Special program rates, which include green fee, cart and practice balls, are $125 from Nov. 1 through May 31, 2010.

Blackstone, a 570-acre private, gated community located in metro Phoenix's West Valley, is home to Engh's first and only golf course in Arizona.

Based in Colorado Springs, Colo., Engh was named Golf Digest's first "Architect of the Year" and has been the recipient of many other awards for his course design.

Utilizing the dramatic natural features of the surroundings, the Engh team incorporated sheer rock faces, dry desert washes and rugged outcroppings into the Blackstone layout to create wildly undulating fairways, cavernous bunkers and nearly hidden greens.

The course has been named among the "Best in State" by Golf Digest and
Travel + Leisure Golf has called the Blackstone golf experience "a visual, visceral joyride of a golf course."

Private club members and their guests can also enjoy privileges at the Hacienda
Clubhouse, featuring the informal main dining area with an eclectic contemporary menu; the outdoor Cantina with a massive Mexican tile-topped bar, 42-inch TVs and a menu of creatively-prepared 19th hole favorites; and three private dining venues.
