Erin Hills Front Runner Front Runner for 2017 U.S. Open

The United States Golf Association will make a formal announcement about the venue of the 2017 U.S. Open on Wednesday. It is rumored that Erin Hills is the front runner competing with Illinois course Cog Hill. The announcement will be made at Pebble Beach, the site of this year US Open.

Erin Hills was recently acquired by Milwaukee investor Andrew Ziegler. The course is undergoing major renovations and scheduled to open to the public on Aug 1, 2010.
