See More Putters Come With An Effective Alignment System

By John Ehle

Payne Stewart may have launched the See More putter with his 1999 U.S. Open win but Zach Johnson has kept the putter in the limelight by winning more than $20 million dollars with it in the past several years; including the Masters.

The most debated aspect of putting has likely been whether to use straight back and straight through or an inside out stroke but SeeMore (Franklin), the little company from Tennessee, has solidified its position by developing an alignment system which enables golfers to better remove the most troubling variable from putting; alignment.

Harvey Penick coined the best phrase to ever put its stamp on golf instruction:"Take dead aim". The SeeMore triangulation system teaches a rigorous, dependable protocol for aligning a putt and going through the fitting process with a SeeMore instructor will convince even the most skeptical student of the game. It is a process that reveals the likelihood that even the most unerring eye is likely to incorrectly see the line of a putt.

Not only is the system simple, accurate and effective; it carries over from fitting to practice to the course. The putters are made in the USA (in Franklin, TN) but they are varied in style and genre and at a level of quality which will beckon its owner to get it back in his/her hands again and again.

The fitting process is highly scripted and the SeeMore "instructors" are trained well, carrying out the process with meticulous attention to detail. Each step of the fitting process is explained as the golfer is told what information is being gathered.

The key component is the "triangulator"; a device which enables the fitter and golfer to ascertain the golfer's tendencies in the alignment process. My experience revealed my own tendency to align to the right and after making the necessary adjustments the process produced successful efforts to align properly and resulted in a series of successfully holed putts.

The putter head of each SeeMore has white alignment guides and a red rectangle which act as visual aids in the alignment process, making the proper setting of the putter head an uncomplicated, effective task. The red rectangle is "hidden" behind the shaft and the white lines act as lateral guides in the alignment process. This task offers up an "aha" moment every time.
